The space onion

First layer is all out of the 'big' bedroom.

First layer is (mostly) all out of the ‘big’ bedroom.

Wood stoves should really be moved by two people. Oddly enough, for being made out of cast iron, they are REALLY heavy and bulky. But inch by inch I got it moved.

And this was under the propane heater stove. There WAS a little sheet metal base that the stove sat on but that base was set directly on the carpet. Obviously that wasn't the best way to install it!

These walls have a secret…

No more toilet. Cue instant need to pee...

Repeat. About 100 times. 😛 And then this layer of floor is just icky. And saggy. And soggy.

Dun dun duuuuuuuh! When I first opened up this wall my first though was 'wow, this wall has been on fire' (the wood stove was right on the other side of this wall. But no. Thats not soot. Soot would be nice. Thats mould. Mould is NOT nice. SOOO glad I have a decent face mask!

Walls 8 - The mold between the living room panelling and the drywall

Walls 9 - What pretty moldThe secret is revealed! Between the vintage carpet with the vintage dog smell embedded in it and the damp and mouldy bathroom, it’s no wonder at all that the house smelled OLD when this project began!
