Here is the starting point. It isn’t horrible but I certainly have dreams for this house that don’t include circa 1970s carpet so…
- Underneath the tasteful 1970s carpet (which smells like 40 years of dog by the way) is some fully disintegrated carpet padding. Well some of the edges where there wasn’t any traffic are still kinda foam rubber like but mostly it just super fine black rubber dust. Except where people walked a lot. Those areas have a lot of good old fashioned dirt dust instead. No carpet padding left to be found!
Ok. All the carpet is out of the living room (and is now acting as a dirt/mud covering for the area where the deck used to be. Works well!)
All the carpet padding remnants have been scraped off the boards.
The most amazing Ariel hard at work in the west bedroom. This is AFTER carpet and 3 layers of linoleum have been pulled out! You rock Ariel!
One of the layers of fancy linoleum. Interesting stuff! By the way, that blue and yellow tool in the picture is one of the BEST demolition tools ever. That, a claw hammer, and a dead blow hammer will take about anything apart. A crowbar would be a good addition but I haven’t bought one yet.
- More fancy linoleum.
Finally down to wood in the last part of that room.
The ‘big’ bedroom has a concrete floor. Yea! That will be fun to remove! Right…
Fancy fancy stuff! I love it. Don’t want it on the floor but it sure is pretty!
One last look…
Whee! Wood floors everywhere except the ‘big’ bedroom is half concrete. And the bathroom has a mystery floor. It’s been redone by adding to the top of the floor. We’ll see whats what over there on a different day.
